After years of unbearable anticipation Dr. Wonder Comics and Collectibles opens it's doors to the public. Situated in the gorgeous hamlet of Cranbury, NJ this comic shop compliments this quaint town perfectly within it's 19th century historic structure. Currently the store hours are limited to Tuesday, Friday and Saturday as this small town primarily draws it's large crowds during the weekend. Upon discovering on a Sunday the store had actually opened I pain-stakingly waited until next Friday to make my grand entrance. I brought my wife and two sons to this establishment to test the child friendliness factor. Upon approaching the entrance I noticed that already a large number of parents and children were already exploring this new nest of comics and collectibles. We entered and were greeted by Dave the store owner. Dave was very welcoming and went out of his way to ensure we knew the entire layout of the store which was refreshing. I must state that the store has just opened and the vast extent of their inventory is yet not displayed and or price labeled as mentioned to us by the owner. The store really is covering all of the core bases for a collector. They have a vast selection of comics (much more to come, supposedly 30,000 back issues), models, vintage gaming and computing, tons of toys, antiques, and more... Really a plethora of geek goodness. I actually picked up an old Nintendo 64 title (Gauntlet Legends) and the owner gave my son a Power Rangers figure for next to nothing. All and all Dr. Wonder was a great place to visit. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner's son Wally (Store Manager) who was also very nice. So if you are in Central New Jersey make your way over to Dr. Wonder Comics and Collectibles. The store is great and you will also love the town.
