Irvine Spectrum’s Goin’ Green

While using the restroom on a recent visit to the Irvine Spectrum I noticed the urinals were waterfree!  Very cool!  If I remember correctly they were Sloan WES-5000 Waterfree Urinal’s. Green Tip: Remove Bottle Caps When Recycling Plastic Bottles

Although plastic bottle caps are recyclable, they are made of a different type of plastic than their counterpart plastic bottles, thus they require a different recycling process.  So recyclers DO NOT even bother to recycle any bottles with caps.  So please get in the habit of removing the caps before you drop the bottle in the recycle bin. Green Tip: Lawn Maintenance

In the summer, set your sprinkler timer for 2 minute intervals at 12am, 1am, 8am, and 8pm  every 2-4 days.  This will minimize the chances for run-off and evaporation while still providing a deep soak.  In the winter, you can cut out the 8am & 8pm waterings. [Read more →]
